Stranger Things Have Happened, But Not That Night.
A really strange thing happened to me at work the other night:
One of my customers, with his little girl, was just leaving, when at the last moment, she took a tooth out of her mouth and set it down on the counter. Her father was oblivious to this, he was already turned towards the door to leave. So off they went, and I was left with a personal present. I was a little wigged out by this, I can tell you. So I called over to a co-worker, lovely girl, and told her what happened. She said "maybe she thought you were the tooth-fairy". It is true that I am well known for stalking the little kids with candy, and some of them can spot me from a mile away now. And come to think of it, the entire time this little girl was smiling at me as if she was expecting something. My youngest daughter said "she was smiling because she knew what she was doing and you didn't". So, I'm thinking, which movie am I in, the Stephen King movie or the Walt Disney movie? And I had a tooth that I didn't know what to do with. So, I put it in a little dish, just in case her parents called for it. At the end of the night, it was time to throw the tooth away, and I felt really bad about that. I felt like I was throwing her wish away. What if she did think I was the tooth-fairy?
