Lorreta's Nook

Al & Loretta Schiano own a combined business (amongst others) of a Buy,Sell,&Trade Shop and a 1500 sq. ft. indoor flea market in Lansford, Pa. They are a retired couple who put this business together about 1 1/2 years ago, starting with a window display and expanding to their present stores. And they're still planning on expanding the flea market to the upstairs of the building. Lucky for us, this is how they are spending their retirement.
In Al's shop you will find a beautiful selection of handmade 9.25 silver & semi-precious stone pendant pieces from all over the world. They consist of goldstone, quartz, red coral, bostonian agate, lapis, and more, ranging from $15-$45.
There are little handmade dolls from Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands, ranging from $14-$25.
Al's even got a 25-30 year old Panther Valley beanie, possibly a freshman year hat, which is not priced.
I asked him about the drum set in the middle of his shop, and if he plays. He laughed and told me "not for years", he had just bought that.
Loretta's flea market area is an eclectic mix of household collectibles and clothing items. If not for her wonderful assortment of Laura Ashley socks at $1-$2/pair, I would have gone barefoot all winter. This is also where I bought my wonderful wool cloche last fall, at a whopping $1.
When I asked Al about their amazing low prices, he told me that since they are retired and don't need this business to make a living, they wanted to offer the local people in our depressed area goods for a tremendous savings. They are doing a great community service. Another example is the Dell Inspiron 501. It's second hand, but perfect. Complete with case, speakers, wireless mouse, listed at $888. Al's selling it for $325.
Their store is a complete addiction, as they have something for everyone.
