OK, i finally got my friday afternoon at the apple store. a little disappointed they werent in stock when i showed up at the store opening at 10 in the morning, but oh well. here are a couple pics i have with my new iPod shuffle 2nd gen this weekend.

How do I get the cool weather widgets like that?
New to Apple Computers! On my first one now and wanna do a little bit of customizing it! I just bought it Saturday!
He did it with an app called geektool. It takes a little know how to do, but there are plenty of dummy proof guides on youtube.
I used to use geektool until I got a few Kernal panics and I noticed my mac taking a performance hit from it. Be careful when your messing with system tweaks!

I agree. I think keeping your dignity and sanity intact are more important than a little extra money. I'll probably do the business card for this guy, but if he approaches me with any larger projects, I'll most likely turn him down. :)

well guys i'm finally moved into the new house, and finally got internet going today. but the internet is terrible here, no cable - just DSL @3.0 mbps.
i just got 4 x 260's folding at the moment.
i will crank up some of the other rigs during the week or weekend.
during the move, for some reason my hard drive crashed on my main folding rig. i had to replace the hard drive, and i got it running as a hackintosh at the moment (while i didn't have internet; just to play around with) but i still have to install windows on it and get everything setup.
looks like everyone has been folding well while i've been out the last couple of weeks though. great job everyone! :)
we are now #62 overall though. hopefully we can continue to get better.

Nice idea, but you can't really read the text. It's probably clear to most people what you're doing, but the font and size of the "Mac Rumors" isn't clear enough.

That would be you. I for example, did not mind when XM radio offered me a 50% off deal for "coming back".
Just let FT know you don't want to be bothered and let the rest of us get the 50% off deals.
If you don't know that you can negotiate a better deal when leaving or after you have left, and you rely on giving up your personal info in order to obtain such "benefits," you deserve what you get.
And to borrow your line of argument, let those of us who value our privacy stick with Apple, and you go enjoy Android and let FT and everyone else know everything about you.

ok so my new 2010 MBP has been extremely slow and I was instructed to go into my disk utilities and to repair disk permissions and to verify them. I did so.
I was also instructed to take this pics here and hopefully someone can help me speed up my mac.

completely the opposite. you obviously don't know eBay or PayPal. PayPal will 99% of the time be in favour of the buyer.

My dotmac is set to expire.
I will renew if Apple foots the bill again.
A couple of years ago they inadvertently deleted all my webpages and so when they were writing to goad me into renewing I said why should I? You deleted my webpages. So they gave me a complimentary year.
Then last year I paid for it again but they deleted a lot of my messages with an overly aggressive server-side spam filter. Plus they've been plagued with e-mail outages this last year.
I will call customer service. If they pay for it, I'll continue. If not, then I'll have a hard time justifying the expense.
Everyone's been plagued by the same email outages...why should you expect special treatment?

Only switched to mac since xmas, so I didn't really know what to expect from macworld, but I'm not best excited from what I've seen. I was hoping for mac upgrades, and was most looking forward to leopard. The itv thing is a neat idea, I just can't see it appealing to the general public though, what with everything you have to have for it etc. And the iPhone WTF? Don't get me wrong it looks GREAT, really exciting, everything about it seems right, but the price? It's a phone for christ sake, and its not going to be out in the uk until the back end of 07 :mad: . But seriously 499 in the US, thats like �350? in the UK, I've just bought myself a new phone for �100 and thats nearing the tops I'd pay for a phone, which in essence is all it is. A �350 iphone or k800i (3mp) for �180, I'll have the k800i please, its ridiculous the price of this thing, because which ever way you look at it, �350ish/$499 for a phone is too much and apple will seriously be limiting the user base with a price like that, compared to other phones, the majority of the general puiblic won't want to lash out that much for a phone, its just a joke... All IMO obviously

Well, the company where I have work has 30,000 email users and it runs perfectly on a 8 Core AIX Power5 machine
Same here, except we have 2x that many users on Notes. I find it funny all the emails sent out that we get as Domain Notes Admins complaining about mail files nearing the 2GB limit (file size limitation in the version of AIX being used).
