Talent Tip of the Week

Did you enter the Cold Read Competition? For some talent contestants, this is the Competition that makes them the most nervous. Relax! Your Cold Read does not need to be memorized. You'll need to glance at your script and pick up as much of the line as possible. This will enable you to have eye contact with the professional actor you'll be reading opposite. Show your reactions with your facial expressions as you listen to the other actor read his/her lines.

Actor of the Week

Ready, Set, Hike! Get pumped for this week's IMTA alum, Adrienne Palicki who starred on the hit television series, Friday Night Lights. Adrianne portrayed Tyra Collette, a small town girl that intertwines in the small town drama. The cast has included fellow IMTA alumi, Zach Roerig and Jeremy Sumpter. Adrianne is also currently working a new movie titled Red Dawn!

In 2001, Adrianne competed at IMTA. "It was amazing. I love IMTA! I'm so sad it's over," said Adrianne in an interview with the IMTA Video Crew. Since IMTA, Adrianne has been working on the sets of television shows, major motion pictures and on Broadway!

Model of the Week

Sean Harju competed at IMTA in 2006 and was the 1st runner up for Male Model of the Year. He has worked for Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace, Thome Brown, Karl Lagerfeld and Narciso Rodriguez. He has also been featured in the magazines Zero, Surface, and German and Taiwan GQ. Sean was in numerous shows during New York's fashion week as well as the very prestigious Calvin Klein's Milan show!

IMTA Hall of Fame

Jessica Biel gained her stardom from her role as Mary Camden on Seventh Heaven. Since she attended IMTA in 1994, she has been continuously on the television and big screen. With films such as The Illusionist, I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry, and Next... there isn't a role Jessica can't take on.

It won't be long before Jessica hits the theater screens near you starring in the films Nailed, The Tall Man, The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, and Playing the Field, all due for release in the upcoming year.

Teen Choice Awards Airing Tonight!

Tune into the 2010 Teen Choice Awards to see how many awards are won by the five IMTA alumni who are nominated! The following stars all competed on the at IMTA conventions where they were seen by the many talent scouts, managers and agents who were looking for new talent:
Jessica Biel, IMTA alum from 1994, is up for Choice Movie: Hissy Fit and Choice Female Hottie from Valentine's Day which co stars IMTA alum Ashton Kutcher!

Josh Duhamel and Ashton Kutcher are competing once again. This time for Choice Movie Actor: Romantic Comedy- Josh for When in Rome and Ashton for Valentine's Day. These two first battled it out on the IMTA runways in 1997 where Josh won Male Model of the Year and Ashton won Most Sought After Male Model.

Ashton Kutcher is also nominated for Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon-Male and Choice Twit.

Eva Longoria, IMTA alum 1998, is up for Choice Activist and Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon-Female! She stars as Gabby on the hit TV show Desperate Housewives. She has also worked with many wonderful chartitable projects such as: "Yo Sumo"a campaign which encouraged Hispanics to participate in the 2010 census. She is also the founder of the non-profit Eva’s Heroes dedicated to the developmentally challenged, and is involved with the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic civil rights organization.

Ashley Greene, IMTA alum 2004, is nominated for the Choice Movie: Female Scene Stealer award for her turn Alice Cullen in The Twilight Saga: New Moon! She has recently started a new campaign as ambassador for Avon's younger brand called Mark! As brand ambassador for Mark, she will appear in the Mark magalog, website, as well as in print and online advertising.

In this action adventure film, Jessica portrays the very tough and intense Captain Charisa Sosa. IMTA's Jessica Biel in The A Team in Theaters Now!

Superstar, Jessica Biel (IMTA alum from 1994) has a new film in theaters today The A Team. The big-screen treatment of the 1980’s hit TV series The A-Team is about a group of Iraq War veterans who were falsely accused of crimes and want to clear their names with the U.S. Military. In this action adventure film, Jessica will portray the very tough and intense Captain Charisa Sosa.

Jessica's beauty, acting potential, singing and dancing abilities caught the attention of the agents, managers and casting directors who attend every IMTA Convention looking for new faces to represent. After competing at IMTA she went on to star in the TV show 7th Heaven. Most recently, Jessica has committed to star in the Broadway adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar’s 1988 flick Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown, according to the LA Times.

Four IMTA Beauties make Maxim Magazine's Hot List!

Lauren Storm, Lyndsey Fonseca, Jessica Biel and Ashley Greene all were honored on Maxim Magazine's top 100 hottest!

Ashley recently was on the cover of Maxim magazine. She is currently appearing in the smash box office hit The Twilight Saga: New Moon! Ashley stars as Alice Cullen, the cute quirky vampire sister of Edward who has the special gift of seeing glimpses of the future. Ashley also starred as Alice in the first hit movie Twilight!

Lyndsy competed at IMTA in 2003 where she won 2nd Runner up for Young Miss Dancer of the Year and Honorable Mention Young Miss Talent of the Year. Lyndsy Fonseca recently starred in two movies Hot Tub Time Machine and Kick Ass.

IMTA's Ashley Greene and Jessica Biel Named People's 50 Most Beautiful Issue!

IMTA alum Ashley Greene, is one of the newcomers to People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful issue this year! She joins IMTA alum Jessica Biel who is also featured in this issue in a new "Beautiful Jessicas" section.
Ashley competed at IMTA in 2004, when she said,"I'm so thankful I got the opportunity to be here at IMTA because there are so many people and so many opportunities. I want to come back to IMTA even if do I make something big of it. I definitely want to come back, it was a lot of fun!" She is joining an all-star ensemble cast for the feature film Butter! Her film Eclipse, the third installment of the Twilight series, where she stars as Alice Cullen is due in theaters on June 30!

IMTA alum 1994, Jessica Biel climbed to the top of 19,340-foot Mt. Kilimanjaro and on March 14 her documentary showing the climb will air on VH1! Jessica premiered the film called Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro in New York on March 10th! She did the climb to Africa's tallest peak to raise awareness of the global water crisis.

Valentine's Day with IMTA Alums Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Biel!

IMTA alumni Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Biel are starring in a new romantic comedy called Valentine's Day in theaters now!! This film is full of other stars such as: Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Queen Latifh, Hector Elizondo, Shirley Maclaine, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, Emma Roberts, Topher Grace, Jennifer Garner, Patrick Dempsey, Kathy Bates and George Lopez. It is the story of various couples and their celebration on Valentine's Day. According to Variety: "Moviegoers took "Valentine's Day" to heart this year -- and then some. Warner Bros.' romantic ensemble turned in a whopping four-day estimate of $66.9 milllion at 3,665 locations to become the all-time highest grossing film over the Presidents Day Weekend, beating Sony's "Ghost Rider" in 2007 with $52 million."

Check out these adorable pictures of IMTA'94 alum Jessica Biel and her costar Jennifer Garner in the March issue of Marie Claire. The film also stars IMTA'97 alum Ashton Kutcher! According to Marie Claire : "Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel bonded while filming Valentine's Day and have been friends ever since. On a rare girls' night out, the stars dish about the difficulties of (usually) being the only woman on set, the pros and cons of having a famous significant other, and whether or not either of them really 'has it all.'"

IMTA Alum Jessica Biel is on the cover of the 2010 Febrauary issue of Vogue magazine! These gorgeous shots were taken by the famed photographer Mario Testino! In the shoot, she wears clothes from the Ralph Lauren Collection and RRL Ralph Lauren denim. Over the past year IMTA alums have participated in an extensive array of fabulous projects. We wanted to give you some ideas for relaxing and welcoming in the New Year! Here are some suggestions of IMTA alum's movies now out on DVD:

IMTA alum Sean Faris' feature film Forever Strong is now out on DVD! This awesome movie won an MTV Movie Award for BEST FIGHT in 2008! Sean won Junior Male Model of the Year when he competed at IMTA in 1999. Sean recently joined the cast of CW's runaway hit TV Vampire Diaries as Ben, an ex-high school football player and bartender at the local Mystic Grill. Ashton Kutcher, IMTA New York 1997, film Personal Effects is out on DVD. When Ashton competed he went head to head with IMTA alum and superstar Josh Duhamel. Ashton won Most Sought After Male Model, signed with Next Models and went straight to Fashion week!
IMTA alum '94 and superstar Jessica Biel's feature film, Easy Virtue is out on DVD. Jessica's latest project, an animated film called Planet 51, is in theaters now. Jessica is working on two new films Valentine's Day and The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. Jessica's film Powder Blue is also out on DVD! IMTA alum Raini Rodriguez's movie Paul Blart Mall Cop is now out on DVD. In this hilarious new film, Raini portrays Maya, daughter of Paul Blart played by The King of Queens star Kevin James. Raini is currently working on a new TV series called I'm in the Band.Lauren Storm's movie I Love You Beth Cooper is now out on DVD! In this movie, Lauren plays Treece Kilmer, one of the best friends of the lead, Hayden Panettiere, who plays the title role of Beth Cooper. Lauren just finished working on the film The Inner Circle.

Josh Duhamel IMTA '97 starred in the biggest film of the summer, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. When Josh competed at IMTA, he was awarded the prestigious title of Male Model of the Year! Josh edged out fellow competitor Ashton Kutcher to win the big prize. My Sister's Keeper starring Sofia Vassilieva IMTA 2000, is now out on DVD! When she competed she won Child Model of the Year! This heart wrenching film won the Choice Summer Movie Drama Award! Sofia is a series regular on the hit TV drama Medium.

IMTA Alums Seann William Scott and Jessica Biel in Planet 51!

Planet 51 opens in theaters today November 20th! When an American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker (Dwayne Johnson) lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders...like Chuck! IMTA alums Jessica Biel (LA94) and Seann William Scott (LA95) voice Neera and Skiff, two members of the family Chuck first encounters on Planet 51 when he interrupts their barbecue. Check out what Jessica has to say about her character on Planet 51 and more below!






Next up on Biel’s busy schedule is Valentine’s Day, a romantic comedy opening February 12, 2010, that also stars fellow alum Ashton Kutcher! Jessica is currently filming the big-screen treatment of the 1970’s TV series The A-Team, currently scheduled for a June 11 opening next year, in which a group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed.

Seann is working on a comedy called A Couple of Dicks. This movie is scheduled to open February 26, 2010. The comedy is about two cops whose adventures include locating a stolen baseball card, rescuing a woman, and dealing with gangsters and their laundered money. Other projects in development include Coxblocker (as Executive Producer and star) and The Undeniable Charm of Sloppy Unruh, a comic fable.
